REDEFINING THE CUSTOM

It is perplexing and overwhelming to talk about the varieties in which a simple dupatta can embody. Dupatta or chuniri or odhni is a kind of swatch of cloth which is worn in innumerable parts of south Asia.

Dupatta is considered to signify elegance, decency, romance which is easily noticeable by the fact of the way the movies shows us. The dupatta with time gradually evolved and went from being a fabric for practical purpose to something that has the capacity to beautify the whole look of women. It is being complimenting our beautiful ladies since ages by coordinating them with the traditional attires like suits or lehengas.

But now it is the time to redefine the meaning of what history has taught us. As now women are not seen only as the mark of femininity but also as the ones who collar-up and keep themselves indistinguishable from men in every perspective. The unimaginable magic of dupatta which at a point of time was just an icon of customary tradition, the time is up now to transform it into the way our ladies are transforming. That is more strong, wise, sturdy yet not leaving apart the charm and goddess part.

Leaving behind the thumb rule of wearing dupatta only as a compliment to the attire, the newness coming on the way is to transform the fabric into a lone style statement. Variety in the ways in which a dupatta can be worn is shown in many Youtube videos and is streaming all over the internet, but the change it shows on how its restyling not only that piece of fabric but also the new look it gives to the body on which it is worn. A dupatta alone can add glamor and exquisiteness to the body without any need of too many accessories. It can be seen as the way to blend the modernization to the traditional face of dupatta.

The chunari, has lot to say, to the body on which it resides, to the figure it embraces, to every breast over which it is styled. The need is to hear what it says.
